If there were bad “p” words, “packaging” would be one of them. But since we need to use it, we try to use the most sustainable packaging available to us – while using the least amount possible – that allows us to safely and effectively deliver our products. Our goal is to use 100% recycled, recyclable, and/or renewable materials that have the lowest carbon footprint and the best sustainable waste option for the end-consumer. Bottom-line: lower the impact of the “p” word.

We are a bit obsessive when it comes to packaging, and we literally spend hundreds of hours researching and testing the most environmentally-friendly packaging material to use. Our organic soap boxes are quite unique from a sustainability standpoint. Not only is the paper 100% RECYCLABLE and BIODEGRADABLE, but it’s also made up of 50% post-consumer recycled material – think of all those newspapers and old love letters you’ve put in the recycling bins (or should’ve put in there). The paper is also certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (“FSC”), ensuring that it comes from sustainable, well-managed forests. In addition, the boxes are made with renewable energy, primarily supporting wind energy farms. This is like the goody-goody of the paper packaging options.  And, if that wasn’t enough, we spent lots and lots of time creating our beautifully-designed packaging, or “bathroom art,” as we like to call it!

Our organic skincare packaging is 100% recyclable and made from 25% post-consumer recycled plastic (except the face lotion bottle – although it is 100% recyclable).  We went through many, many extra steps to be able to house our products in some of the most sustainable packaging available to us, and we think it’s totally worth it.
