True Profitability
At the end of the day, every company needs profits to survive, and we’re no different. BUT, while we do need to ensure we remain a viable long-term company, pure profits are not the only reason we’re in business. We simply measure profits using more than just dollars.
Our “true profitability” is measured by the positive impact we have on our brand, the company, our people, our community, and the environment, all of which are of equal importance.
Each year, we look to expand the awareness of LEAP Organics, increase sustainable cash flows, advance the well-being of our people, maximize our philanthropy, and minimize our ecological footprint. We know, we know, it’s a little beauty pageant-ish, but it’s the truth, and it helps guide us on this little mission we’re on with LEAP.
We’ll be keeping a scorecard of all of these metrics and will share them with you each year on our website and in our newsletter. It keeps us honest and focused, and we like that.
We also want to give a special shout-out to some of the early pioneers in “socially-responsible,” “triple-line,” and “sustainable” business that have all inspired LEAP and provided a road map of sorts for our journey. These companies include Patagonia, Clif Bar, and Stonyfield Farms, as well as the many others we’ve encountered who are trying to do things the right way. You’ve all proven that sustainability can work for the business model, the environment, and your people.
Thank you.
