Bigger isn’t always better. Especially when it comes to your carbon footprint. Every business (and person) has one, and we like to keep ours really small.
Broadly speaking, we try to achieve this by reducing our overall energy use, purchasing renewable energy, and offsetting our indirect carbon emissions. If direct purchases of renewable energy are unavailable from our local utility, we purchase renewable energy credits from NativeEnergy, a third party provider who helps us appropriately calculate what we’ve used. We then work with NativeEnergy to purchase carbon offsets by estimating the carbon emissions from our indirect sources, which for us includes the following: 1) emissions generated from our purchases of electricity and other energy; 2) emissions generated from shipping products and materials to our facilities; 3) emissions generated from business travel; and 4) emissions generated from shipping products to our customers.
Yes, even when you order from us, we try to make sure you stay off Mother Nature’s bad list.
